Negotiating Borders and Mobilities in Globalising and Digitalising Asia

This workshop, jointly organized by the GARC, GERP, and CNRS, explores the intersections between international migration, networks, and borders. Bringing together scholars from Taiwan and abroad, the workshop examines topics including transnational mobility, digital trade, international students, migrant workers, cross-border networks, and identity formation.

The workshop will be conducted in both in-person and online formats. Themes include “Digitalizing Networks as Everyday Practice,” “Place Attachment, Immobility, and Networks,” “Mediating Mobility: Networks and Ethics,” and “Gendered Mobility, Gendered Networks.”Professor Po-Yi Hung will also present his newly published book, Routes of Taiwan Tea: Mobility, Borders, and Territoriality, during the workshop.
